About Me
When Midlife Changed More Than I Expected
Hi, I’m Martine, founder of MC Wellness Hub.
When I stepped into my fifties, I began experiencing changes I did not fully understand. Sleepless nights, stubborn weight gain, hot flashes, heart palpitations, brain fog, and energy crashes slowly became part of everyday life. Some days, even simple tasks felt harder than they should have.
It was as though my body had rewritten its instruction manual without giving me a copy.
I remember looking at myself and wondering, Is this simply my new normal?
At the same time, I was moving through one of the most painful seasons of my life. I lost my husband of 20 years, and then my mother not long afterward. Grief affected every part of me. My body ached, my energy disappeared, and for a while, I felt disconnected from the woman I had been.
I could not always tell where grief ended and midlife changes began. The fatigue, poor sleep, aches, emotional ups and downs, and difficulty concentrating seemed to blur together. Over time, I came to understand that grief was part of the picture, but hormonal changes, stress, sleep, nutrition, and the realities of moving through menopause may also have been contributing to how I felt.
My health took another turn when I developed herniated discs and was told that surgery was the only option. I wanted to understand whether there were other ways to support my health alongside conventional care. That curiosity led me more deeply into holistic nutrition, functional wellness, lifestyle medicine, and women’s midlife health.
The more I learned, the more I realized how difficult it can be for women to sort through all the advice surrounding menopause. We are told to eat less, exercise more, take this supplement, avoid that food, balance our hormones, fix our gut, lower our stress, and somehow get eight perfect hours of sleep while we are at it. Before long, caring for ourselves can begin to feel like another full-time job.
I won’t pretend that my own journey is finished. I am still navigating postmenopause, paying attention to my health, and learning new things about my body. Some questions have become clearer, while others are still unfolding.
That is one of the reasons I created MC Wellness Hub. I wanted to offer women the kind of guidance I was looking for: warm, practical, carefully researched, and honest about what we know, what we are still learning, and when a concern belongs with a licensed healthcare provider.
I am not standing on the other side of midlife telling you how to do it perfectly. I am walking through it too, with professional training, lived experience, plenty of curiosity, and a strong cup of tea never too far away.
Meet Martine

Why I created MC Wellness Hub
Turning Information Into Understanding
Midlife women are surrounded by advice about hormones, food, supplements, weight, sleep, and healthy aging. Much of it is conflicting, oversimplified, or difficult to apply to real life.
Understand
Notice patterns involving meals, energy, digestion, protein, and metabolic health.
Notice
Review your current habits and concerns and decide what deserves attention first.
Move Forward
Choose guides, trackers, checklists, and cards created for real midlife concerns.
Why I look at the bigger picture
Your Midlife Well-Being Is Connected
Eating patterns, sleep, stress, movement, digestion, relationships, daily routines, and your health history can all influence one another. My coaching approach helps you notice those connections and prepare informed questions for your healthcare providers.
